Now my question is what tool or attachment for a power drill or Dremel will allow me to create a hole that I can slide the grommet into (inside diameter)? I accept never done a hole in a case so I am nervous nigh messing up my case.
Correct now I have a Dewalt cordless drill and a Dremel but I don't have an attachment so I am not sure what I should get to fit these grommets. Do you guys accept any suggestions?

The ones up to two" Bore are adequately inexpensive.
You'll desire a saw that matches the pigsty-size suggested for the grommet.

You'll want a saw that matches the hole-size suggested for the grommet.
Then if the "ID" (within diameter) is listed on that chart every bit 2, I would then simply just buy a ii" pigsty saw attachment, right? I merely don't desire to order the wrong size grommets as they're kind of pricey and shipping ever sucks...

The GD diameter is the size of the holesaw yous need. For case, the commencement grommet on that folio is listed equally ii ane/five GD inches... meaning yous'd need a two ane/v holesaw to have the grommet fit snugly.

I personally take done a couple smaller holes (3/8 inch and ane/2 inch OD) in a different way that worked out pretty well...
First I found my middle point. Then I drew a perfect circle centered on that betoken using a elementary circle template like this one:

Then I drilled out a starting hole in the center using a Center Drill bit. I expanded this with a Step Fleck virtually to the border of the pigsty. Then I used my dremel to grind out the remained of the hole. Didn't take long, and it was centered precisely where I needed it to be.

i buy my stuff from ace or lowes
the hole y'all need to make is larger than the ID of the grommet
yous need to make a hole that matches the diameter inside the groove of the grommet - ordinarily about 1/4 inch larger than the ID but double cheque me
yous can employ a hole saw or what is known equally a stride-bit -- in my final build I fabricated a pigsty and it was likewise modest to fit the grommet bec i made information technology for the grommets ID instead of the groove diameter... i just got a step bit and enlarged the hole
i would recommend you get a digital caliper if you don't accept i - I'll never utilize a ruler again - you tin get i for 8 bucks at harbor freight if you have 1 almost you
accept your time and tape everything upward w/ blue painters tape (3M is the best IMHO) ...... go some canned air if yous don't have an air compressor - or purchase a small air compressor
let us know how it turns out
edit: they expect pretty good if y'all take your time

Guys - I but checked and I used a ii" metal hole saw for a hole through my motherboard tray. I can't notice a ii" grommet that has a low plenty profile to allow the motherboard to seat properly over it. Does anyone have whatever suggestions?
Some of THIS should fit the neb.
Just cut to size.

Guys - I just checked and I used a 2" metal hole saw for a pigsty through my motherboard tray. I can't find a 2" grommet that has a depression enough contour to allow the motherboard to seat properly over information technology. Does anyone have any suggestions?
you could too get some condom or Silocone Hosing and slice it half way length wise. You tin can then use this but like U aqueduct molding and its alot cheaper.

OMAR-2092 1 one/8" x 1/16" x i ane/2" x one seven/8" x 3/8" Prophylactic GROMMET

I drilled the holes using a 1 one/2 bi-metal hole saw mounted in my drill.
The problem is that the saw "wobbles" a flake while drilling and by the time yous're done, the hole is at least one/8 inch bigger in diameter than y'all intended. Side by side fourth dimension, I'll apply my trusty sheet metallic nibblers instead and clean upwardly the edges with a file. Certain, information technology takes forever to cutting a hole with nibblers, but it makes a LOT less mess and it's far more accurate.
I'thou still waiting on some extension cables to complete the build, but I can mail some pics when I'thou done if you're interested.

Also, if yous need a great deal of precision then you will need to exist very careful with the pigsty saw to ensure it doesn't end up off-center.
FYI
On larger pigsty saws (similar for 120 mm fans) to foreclose them from wandering off center (unless you lot are using a drill press) I drill the 1/4" pilot hole then remove the drill bit and insert a one/four" drill blank in the hole saw and proceed to drill the hole. The drill blank does not allow the hole saw to wander equally it has no cutting edges and cuts nice round holes by paw.
