I'm thinking about getting this Filson Duffle subsequently going through many websites and looking at many other alternatives.

This notwithstanding seems to be the most raved about and seems to develop a character (patina) of sorts over the years. Therefore, i'm thinking of picking one of these up for casual utilize.

I'chiliad in a lilliputian bit of a dilemma as to which one to choice! Okay firstly, I would like to ask (people who know nearly the filson brand), do you know if the color of the bridle leather is the same for all the models? According to their website some models seem to have lighter brown leather while some seem darker.

Example, does the Rolling Duffle Large (Shown beneath) take the same color leather as the Small-scale/Medium duffle?

I ask but considering on the Small/Medium duffle (shown beneath) the colour of the leather seems to exist darker (and not as contrasting)

Some other matter I can't decide, is which size to get.
- While i'm afraid the medium might be besides large for everyday use (for going to school or the to gym)
- I'chiliad as well concerned that the modest may be as well minor to fit anything decent.
Or information technology may just look too small. I'm quite a large guy so I would demand a bag that fits well equally well!

*I'm more often than not only going to use this as a casual pocketbook for school or for walking around town etc.

When I travel I typically pack everything into a big bank check-in luggage and bring a haversack with me, currently using this one ;)

So what do you guys retrieve? I'm looking at either a Navy, or Otter Green duffle! Also, is it rubber to purchase these from eBay? Would they be genuine? (are in that location even faux Filsons out in that location?)

I've been looking at this one:

It would exist corking to run across some photos/comparisons too if yous have any! Thanks!

Hello Illition. Not sure if anyone got back to you or if you've even made your decision betwixt the minor duffle and the Medium duffle - from FIlson, of course.

Through a lucky Amazon.com shipping error, I happen to have both the medium AND modest duffle in my house right at present. (they accidentally sent me the wrong one). I'm at present trying to decide which one to go with.

My initial observations.

Medium Duffle - bigger than you call back. Can't believe they telephone call it a "medium". It's HUGE! No way you could reliably go away carrying it on an airplane (certain it will beat down but when fully loaded? No style)

Pocket-size Duffle - Perfect. Roomy purchase smaller. Definitely. This would be a perfect bag for a 2 or 3 twenty-four hours trip (although more than than that you lot'll be pushing information technology). Nifty to deport to the gym, I think.

Filson really needs to come out with something between the two!

Promise this helps
Mike

Thanks alot for the assistance! I concluded up buying the small-scale duffle likewise, and couldn't imagine what the medium would have been like!

The small-scale duffle is large enough for a couple of days of stuff! I used it recently for a 4D3N roadtrip around the Great britain, and it fit all my stuff perfectly.

Only issue I had was that the opening itself is not very big, and it tin sometimes be hard to remove stuff from the bag (especially things packed near the lesser). I sometimes had to remove everything in my bag to notice sure things.

I agree with you, if they sold something inbetween a small and a medium, that would exist perfect for me!

To the Filson duffle bag owners (or whatsoever other numberless), could I please ask a question regarding the leather handles:
Although the bag comes with two bridle leather straps for conveying by manus, on my specimen, one of them seems to be a lot thinner and less durable than the other. Unfortunately, the thinner piece is the one Without the leather wrap around it, meaning that it is fifty-fifty less reinforced, and subject area to fifty-fifty more stress when the handles are buckled and carried.

When the bag is packed full, I realised that when the leather handles are buckled into the leather wrap, that the thin leather handle is bent at an angle that makes it extra prone to wear and breaking.

I have read many reviews online that this bridle leather is extremely difficult wearing and will concluding for 10-20 years. While the determent leather everywhere on the bag feels this way, this one particular strap feels a lot less durable than the others.

Please let me know what y'all guys call up? Are y'all other numberless like this as well? Is this leather strap thinner than it should be? Is this probable to be a QC issue?
I take already contacted Filson about this. But the problem is I ordered this bag from an eBay seller, but am sure it is 100% 18-carat

Ok kickoff of all the handle isn't going to intermission, if it bothers y'all send information technology dorsum, Filson is fantastic about pleasing it's customers! Second Filson makes a whole range of different bags so there are plenty of capacities to chose from. The sportsman for ane has a top with the zipper on three sides which allows for excellent access. The 48hr is another great duffle with many pockets. The medium duffle works fine as a carry on.
Merely every bit an aside, Saddleback leather makes a nifty line of canvas gear equally Bask your sm duffle!
